Me and Jess went to an acoustic gig in a pub in Dewsbury on Saturday night (mainly because Ben Parcell has cute songs and was nice to me on Facebook once :’) ). I’m fairly certain we were the only people there who weren’t friends/family of any of the singers or just drunk regulars who’d been there since dinner time anyway. The first ‘act’ was a really quite adorable 14 year old boy with a cookie monster t-shirt and Mario mushrooms on his guitar. He covered Frank Turner and gave us a free CD on which he’s wearing a Frank Turner t-shirt, covers another Frank song as well as Bowling For Soup, Stereophonics, All American Rejects, Oasis, Green Day and The Beatles. Needless to say, he won me over pretty easily! Ben recognised me from Facebook after the show and came over and spoke to us for ages about Frank Tuner, Ben Marwood, Green Day and The Beatles. Apparently he’d have given us a backstage tour if it hadn’t been for the lack of a stage :’)

We went back to Jess’s, fell asleep to Shallow Grave (I will get around to watching the rest of it sometime) and bought Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band tickets for March.

And then I got home to find out that my Brother and his girlfriend might have split up for good this time. (She punched him in the face leaving him with a black eye and blood all over his wall and then told her Dad he’d been knocking her about. Oh :|)
